
I’m a self-confessed Internet junkie with over 16 years experience in fixed and mobile internet services, spanning Strategy, Product Management, Marketing, Customer/User Experience and Technology functions (phew, makes me feel old. lol!).
My professional Online journey started back in 1995 at CompuServe Interactive (CSi) – back in the time where email addresses were numbers not names! I ventured into the mobile internet space in 2000 at Vizzavi UK (a joint venture between Vodafone and Vivendi Universal), where I managed the development of the UK’s first WAP entertainment & communications portal. After successfully launching the UK portals, I transitioned into Vodafone’s core business where I continued to develop and learn for the next 8 years.
At the end of 2009 I decided to leave Vodafone as, whilst they are an awesome company to work for and taught me a huge amount over the years, I felt ready to extend my experience and learning with fresh digital challenges in a different industry…
And with that, I joined full-service digital agency, Amnesia Razorfish in Jan 2010. Why these guys? I had followed their moves via social media and loved their commitment and passion for the digital environment – for them, digital isn’t an afterthought, they were born digital and have consistently provided inspiration and innovation in this space at both a local and global level, through the Razorfish network. Working with Amnesia Razorfish gave me fresh perspective – seeing the world through the agency lens – and also helped me realise that my heart really lies in end-to-end product ownership. Handing back the baby after getting it dressed was tough for me — I want to learn and grow with it through it’s childhood years.
This is what led me to ninemsn: Australia’s largest online content publisher that, through it’s parent company mi9, covers 100% of Australia’s online population; who visit its collection of news, entertainment, fashion and sport brands, and services like Windows Live Hotmail and Bing, each month. My team here produce experiences (creative and interactive) for both ninemsn’s advertisers and its 80+ brand websites. Yup, it’s a little bit busy
